COMO Metropolitan London

A minimalist Mayfair landmark on Park Lane where clean lines, Japanese-influenced design, and the signature COMO Shambhala scent replace marble lobbies and gold leaf. Understated luxury for people who find most London hotels exhausting.

The Highs

The COMO Shambhala scent — possibly the best welcome in London
Minimalist design that proves luxury doesn't need to shout
World-class soaps that you'll genuinely think about after you leave
Service that bends over backwards without being performative

Stuff You Should Know

You can’t dim the room lights — maddening if ambiance matters to you (and it should). The breakfast room is pleasant but the least interesting design in the hotel — functional, not memorable. The COMO Shambhala spa is solid but doesn’t match the spectacular spas at COMO’s resort properties — it’s a city hotel spa, not a destination one. The hotel sits on Park Lane at Hyde Park Corner — a busy traffic roundabout that’s a bit of a nightmare to cross on foot. Walk a block in any direction and you’re fine. The minibar is thoughtfully curated but not complimentary. Nobu operates independently inside the hotel — COMO guests get priority reservations, which in London is actually useful.

Park Lane address overlooking Hyde Park, five minutes on foot to Green Park, ten to Buckingham Palace. The hotel is the draw, not the block.

Three Restaurants, Zero Attitude

The food scene here has quietly become serious. Nobu — housed inside the hotel but operating independently — needs no introduction: Japanese-Peruvian classics, a buzzy crowd, and COMO guests get priority bookings. La Bombe by Trivet is the newest addition — a Michelin-starred modern British restaurant that opened after our stay, so we can’t speak to it personally. For breakfast, the COMO Shambhala Kitchen leans healthy and seasonal — organic eggs, lighter options, clean flavors. It’s pleasant and does the job well, but it’s not the kind of breakfast you fly to London for. Solid, calm, dependable — a bit like the hotel itself.
